With one ear to the digital brain and one ear to the analog heart, Tacit Act is effectively making the case for electronic pop music that never loses sight of its human roots. Marshall Camden acts as songwriter, programmer, producer, and instrumentalist, offering up songs that deal frankly with his own thoughts, frustrations, and fears. The results are memorable for emphasizing song structure and multilayered instrumentation to complement alternately ambient and danceable electronica.
Tacit Act began as Marshall's creative outlet while performing as keyboard player for prominent goth rock band In Tenebris. Having created electronic music for years, he applied the Tacit Act moniker to ideas and remixes of his own doing, with little to no concern for gaining any particular reknown. When In Tenebris dissolved unexpectedly in August 2007, Marshall's energy was immediately re-concentrated into making Tacit Act a fully realized entity. With the help of In Tenebris guitarist/programmer/recording engineer Jdavyd Williams, Tacit Act made its live debut less than three months later as opener for The Last Dance. In August 2008, the debut Tacit Act EP was released.
Currently, Tacit Act is working tirelessly to give their debut EP the most exposure possible through live performance and creative networking. But rather than lean on this release as "good enough for now," work is heavily underway on the first full-length album, the great majority of which has already been written in the hopes to begin production well before year's end.
